Now go west across to Speckled Forest. Take the east road once inside a small cabin where you will meet Kerrin. Kerrin says they will join you if you collect 20 pieces of wood. You can find all the wood you need in this forest by following the path north, then west, and collecting it along the way. Once you have at least 20, return to Kerrin and they will join you.

Note that once Kerrin joins, you still cannot explore further here. However, if you go and have another random fight or two in the woods, all wood points will be replenished, allowing you to collect a bunch more wood. Wood is useful for building and upgrading the fort, so you can never have too much of it!
