WoW Season of Discovery DPS Tier List

Season of Discovery brought rebalancing in the power hierarchy, thanks to new runes, items and equipment. Let's see how WoW Season of Discovery DPS Tier List places the hero classes.

All Wow Season of Discovery DPS Units, Ranked

It's clear that Season of Discovery favors spell units over units that rely on physical damage. However, Runes that came with this expansion made a significant upgrade to the Hunter class. Melee Hunters are the best DPS unit in Season of Discovery, followed closely by the ever-reliable Mage. Let's see how the other DPS units fare in the power rankings.

Tier Units
S Mage, Melee Hunter, Wizard
A Elemental Shaman, Shadow Priest, Warrior
B Balance Druid, Wild Druid, Hunter, Rogue
C Enhancement Shaman, Retribution Paladin

Best DPS Units in WoW Season of Discovery

S level

  • Melee Hunter – Season of Discovery blessed the Hunter class with extremely powerful Runes. Hunters had the ability to play as a melee class before, but it was underutilized due to much better options. However, the new rune builds turned Hunter class into an absolute damage-dealing monster.
  • Wizard – Wizards used to struggle with the lack of effective spells before level 40. In this expansion, Wizards use a combination of spell power, sand scaling and the new rune options to wreak havoc with stellar single target damage and burst damage.

A-Tier

  • A soldier – High armor raid bosses made life difficult for all melee classes. Warrior overcomes this with high-damage weapons, attack buffs and powerful runes. However, Warrior needs a full attack kit to unleash true potential against armored bosses.
  • Unlocking the full rotation and new talents upgraded Shadow Priest to the best DPS wizard. Shadow Priest specialty is damage over time, combined with Mind Blast and Mind Spike spells. Their spell damage and Shadow Priests smarts make them an advanced class.

B-Tier

  • Wild Druid – Savage Druids aren't usually in the meta game, but they suddenly become interesting around level 40. Savages in Season of Discovery are the only way for the Alliance to get Windfury Totem, the biggest melee buff. However, their poor stacking ability and lack of AoE let them down.
  • Rogue – Strongest melee class after Warrior, Rogue can deal a lot of damage thanks to the poisons and various damage damage. What keeps Rogue in B-Tier is lack of other advantages that Warriors and Hunters have.

C-Tier

  • Enhancement Shaman – This class deals solid damage, but that is marred by the fact that Enhancement Shaman is a mana-spending melee unit that requires some heavy Regen ability. Additionally, this class also lacks unique shaman buffs, and its melee is inferior compared to higher tiers.
