XDefiant Preseason Patch Notes: Gameplay, Social, Fixes, and more
Echelon Faction and DedSec Spiderbot are back
The Echelon faction is back in the game after they were briefly removed during the last closed test due to some bugs with their invisibility. The issue has now been fixed and players can now use the ability in the correct way (via the Digital Ghillie Suit ability). So, if you want to play with Sam Fisher and a friend in XDefiant, you can now do so.
The DedSec Spiderbot is also back in the game. This DedSec faction ability lets you deep Spiderbot that targets and stuns the nearest enemy by gripping their faces for a few seconds. It is not mentioned if they are buffed or nerfed, but still, it is still a useful ability to have in the game. Additionally, grenades are less likely to fall at your feet if used immediately after respawning. However, this type of incident can still happen.
Network code changes
Another important adjustment here is the reduction of the range between the highest and lowest pings. By this, players with similar ping are matched together. This is especially useful for players who prefer the casual mode rather than Ranked Play.
Sound improvements
Various audio improvements have been made to make the gameplay much more immersive and engaging. Issues with the killstreak VO lines are also addressed.
Xbox Social issues resolved
Various issues with the Xbox Series X|S are fixed such as Ubisoft Connect not opening in the in-game social menu and UI elements disappearing when trying to join a full party. Xbox users can also now view their Xbox friends list as their primary friends in the game.
Placement and Miscellaneous fixes
Localization issues in Ubisoft Connect on consoles have been resolved. In addition, other issues such as crashes when accessing the download menu and misaligned HUD elements on the PS5 are also resolved. Finally, the Chat language filter has also been updated.
