Over the years, there have been many discussions about the worst palette on any given map. Hawkins has been in the running for a long time, but Forgotten Ruins managed to take the cake with the worst palette in quite possibly all of DBD history.
God palettes are loved by everyone because they are usually placed at a key point (entrance to the lodge when it has a basement, for example) on the DBD maps. These pallets should be used strategically, only in critical times when most of your teammates are close to death. You should never use it at the start of a match, no matter what, or you’ll get yelled at by your friends for wasting it (speaking from experience on both sides).
On the other hand, this palette on the Forgotten Ruins map in the Decimated Borgo Realm can only be described as the devil’s palette. I see no use for it other than absolute hilarity. Did my friend and I spend five minutes just inspecting this joke of a palette with mounting disbelief? Yes, of course. But maybe there isn’t a palette out there with how useful this one is either.
For starters, its location is less than ideal. Pallets usually spawn more towards the middle of the map and never that close to a wall. This one, however, goes straight into one. So, if you were to, for example, use the Lithe perk (which gives you a quick boost when jumping), you’d probably lose some of the speed boost by adjusting your course.
In addition to the problem location, the palette itself is broken. When you drop it, it’s supposed to hit the tree, stunning the Slayer and blocking their way until they decide to break it (or if you’re lucky enough to come get it with Yui’s Any Means Necessary boon).
However, when this pallet is dropped, it floats in the air as if it hit a tree. It creates a large enough gap that both the Slayers and the Survivors can walk through, which I immediately tried. There is even enough room for my friend to hold a lute concert.
Behavior Interactive will most likely patch this palette soon as it is not working properly. Honestly, even though it’s incredibly unsafe, I’d like it to stay the way it is just for the fun of it. And if anyone is bold enough to use it to locate a Killer, I send them all my praises.
