There are at least 20 US dollars hidden around the spooky mansion in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. If you want to get all 20 collectibles, you’ll need to grab as many dollars in the house as you can before going to the prize machine.
Where to find all the US Dollars in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
While the US Dollars hidden around the mansion in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes aren’t required to solve certain puzzles and complete the game, you’ll need to get them all to unlock all the adorable collectibles.
Location 1: Front Yard
The first US dollar is found as soon as you enter the front gate of the Hotel where the dog is. Go right near the fence, and look for a bird bath. There’s a dollar inside it.
Location 2: Front Yard
In the back left of the courtyard, past the “Magician” statue, there is an archway leading to the left side of the building. There is an outdoor bench and a locked hatch. There is a dollar bill on the ground on the left side of the bench.
Location 3: Cloakroom, First Floor
When you enter the Hotel through the front door, go straight ahead into the next room upstairs. You will be in front of a large staircase; look to the left and there is a couch. Walk up to it, and your perspective will change, revealing a dollar bill sitting on the couch.
Location 4: Cloakroom, First Floor
From the front door of the Hotel, go back to the next room, then look to the right. There is a dollar in the bowl next to the lamp in the sitting corner.
Location 5: Library, First Floor
The first floor library is on the right side of the first floor. It is located up the back stairs from the Cellar, and one of the right-hand doors leading out from the Cloakroom on this floor. The dollar can be found next to the chair on the back wall to the left of the room.
Location 6: Craft Room, Third Floor
Go down twice from the 1963 door, and look at the table to the left under the window. There’s a dollar bill stuffed inside a little jar there.
Location 7: Basement
From the elevator, go down the stairs into the basement where the gumball machine is. Go straight back into the room to the left of the stairs, and there will be a bill in the drawer in the closet against the back wall.
Location 8: Reception
Once you enter the Hotel, there is a desk where a receptionist could sit. It is blocked off, but you can reach it from the door on the left, labeled “Private”, the German word for Private. Once that door is open, you can go in, up and back to the right to get here. There is a dollar bill on the counter.
Location 9: Reception
If you got the third invoice in this list, you know that there is a key lock on the back wall of this small area. It contains the key to room 2014 and a dollar bill.
Place 10: 2014 Attic
After unlocking room 2014, enter the room to the right. Inside will be a ladder; climb up and there will be a dollar bill on the shelf.
Place 11: 2014 TV room
If you go inside the room 2014 in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, then immediately go to the left, there will be a TV with a bunch of empty VHS boxes. In the pile of empty boxes, there is one called the Canzone dell’Oceano. If you inspect it, a dollar will fall out of the empty container.
Location 12: Secret Chapel
When you drop into the church, there will be a Bible on the right side of the room. Interact with it and a dollar will drop out from between the pages.
Location 13: Secret Chapel
Inside the church, you can find six benches lined up. In the banks on the right, you can find a dollar bill waiting for you.
Location 14: West Back Corridor, Second Floor
Above the church, next to where you jump down is a sledgehammer. Interact with it to get the dollar bill that is crumpled under it.
Location 15: Craft Room Third Floor
If you go down from the storage computer next to the door to room 2014, you enter a small art room with a torn poster on a desk and art supplies on the left wall. There is a dollar bill on the shelf next to the desk.
Location 16: Workshop Study
In the little nook above the statue with the hole in its head on the second floor of the house, there is another dollar bill placed in a drawer on the opposite side of the room from the table.
Place 17:
After unlocking the door to the courtyard, you can find a Fortune Teller’s Tent behind the gate with the compass on it. If you inspect the pile of books at the top of the room, look through them to get another dollar bill.
Location 18: Room 1847 Nursery
After you unlock room 1847, look to the left. There is an entrance to a nursery with a dollar bill on the bookshelf.
Location 19: Backyard
In the courtyard, when you stand next to the solution to the gate puzzle to lead you to the Fortune Teller’s Tent, you can walk into the corner there and then go back to the house. Inside the corner at the bottom left corner, there will be another dollar.
Location 20: Backyard
There is a small courtyard with a door on the other side of the corpse. If you’re in the courtyard, go right, over the corpse, and around the corner. There is a small table with a dollar on it across from the locked safe door there.
How to use the US dollars in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
When you first enter the Hotel, go down the stairs past the receptionist’s desk. In this area, you can find the bathroom and gumball machine. If you put a dollar in this machine, you will get a collectible and you will put it in the little stand next to the machine. Collect all 20 to fill every spot on the collectible board. Once you’ve done all 20, you’ll get the achievement for completing it.
