An ex-GTA 6 projector reveals that players do not explore games

A designer who worked on GTA 6 has shared problems that developers face when creating games especially when it comes to open world titles like Rockstar. There are no secret players to do things that developers do not intend to do, but true understandings of such talent are always excited to learn. We even have one example for Red Dead Redemption 2 and how Rockstar got problems.
The interesting information comes from game designer Cameron Williams. He previously worked at Rockstar on Red Dead Online and spent several years in the unpublished GTA 6. Following his attitude at Rockstar, Cameron went to work at Infinity Ward both Cod MWII and MWIII. Since then he has left the company to work at Absurd Ventures, the study arrangement of Rockstar’s co -founder, Dan Houser. Williams one of many ex-Rockstar developers who made this transition.
Williams led a lecture at this year’s game developers (GDC) titled 9 ways to encourage open world engagement. As reported by A computer playerThe designer triggered his presentation with a slide by reading “common open world problems” and told the audience attending that “players simply do not explore”.
Considering that Rockstar Games titles tend to be open world games, get learning from someone who has worked on GTA 6 is very interesting. Moreover, we know that absurd projects also cook an open world game.
The designer has listed a few things that begin an open world tiredness for players. These include players not forced to do so, the game is heavy on performance or long time investment is required to enter the game. This leads to “research concern” so that players can see where to go but choose no.
“They wonder,” Okay, how far is the next thing? I really need to run all the way through the map? And what is my gain? ”
Red Dead Subject

In Red Dead Redemption 2, you can participate in fishing. Typically, fishing miniatures may seem quite boring to players and they would not go and try it. However, Rockstar made learning the fish mechanics part of the main story.
Williams shares that a mission was the best version of fishing for Jack reacting to what is happening and it is an organic showcase of the fishing mechanics. This means, when players can fish again, they are reminded of the good memories of the main mission. Afterrall, some players just choose to make the main story and omit all the side content.
It will be interesting to see how Rockstar puts his side content in GTA 6. How will they handle to attract players to contain not part of the main story? That’s something that Cameron and many other designers work for many years already in the game.
We just have to wait several more months before GTA you arrive. We are also looking forward to seeing what Rockstar’s old guardian is at Absurd Ventures. So far, they have confirmed an action comedy game is in the works along with an open World Action/Adventure game.
