The arrival of Anime Defenders Update 5 marks the addition of two new items known as Athenyx’s Key and Athenyx’s Tether. If you’re not sure about their purpose and how to get them, you’ve come to the right place as I walk you through all the key details.
What is Athenyx’s Key in Anime Defenders?
The Key of Athenyx, as the name suggests, is a special item that can only be used in the Anime Defenders Athenyx Realm. It was launched on August 24, 2024 as part of Update 5. At this point, you might think that it is required to enter the realm.
However, it is completely opposite to your thinking as The Key of Athenyx is an item you will need to exit the kingdom otherwise you will be trapped inside with all the items and units you have acquired so far. There are two ways to get the Key of Athenyx in Anime Defenders.
First of all, you have to jump into the Athenyx Realm, which requires you reach at least level 30 in the game. The item drops randomly in this mode, so be sure to watch out for it. Alternatively, you can complete this season’s battle pass get this Key of Athens.
Once you have the item in your inventory, you can successfully leave the kingdom without any hiccups.
Understanding the Chain of Athens
In Anime Defenderse, Athenyx dimension is known for its exclusive units known as Realm Units. But there’s a catch – you can’t bring these units outside of this realm unless you have Athenyx’s Tether. In simple words, Athenyx’s Tether allows you to bring back Realm units in the real world so you can use and trade them.
You can get this special tool by by completing certain challenges in Realm mode and ending the battle pass in the game. However, it’s worth noting that you can only evacuate a single unit at a time.
