The much anticipated Anime Defenders Update 5 has been officially announced by its developers. The best part is that they also revealed the roadmap for the next update. So without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about Anime Defenders Update 5.
When will the next Anime Defenders update release? – Update 5
Unfortunately, the release date of Update 5 has not been announced yet, as the developers of Anime Defenders said that they are still working on the new content. However, given the typical release pattern, a major update is usually launched in the third week of a month.
With that in mind, Update 5 should be released sometime between 19 and 26 of August on the Roblox platform. In the meantime, I’ll be sure to stay in touch with any official announcements and update this article accordingly.
Anime Defenders Update 5 Keynotes
Contrary to the release date, Anime Defenders has revealed the official patches for the Update 5. The new kingdom known as that of Athenyx is the major highlight of the next patch, which will consist of new maps, challenges and a brand new battle pass. They also announced the arrival of a new Endless challenge mode. Here’s a quick summary of the update 5 patch notes:
New Realm: Athens
A new kingdom, the domain of the Goddess Athena will appear in the next update. In the realm, you can play on new maps, complete fresh challenges and the battle pass to eventually summon units from the Trials of Athenyx (banners). You can only bring three of your units into the kingdom. Also, you will need the Athenyx key if you want to exit this realm. Finally, it is worth noting that there is a level 30 requirement to enter the realm.
New Trials (Banners)
In the realm, you can summon from one of three trials (banners), each offering 11 new kingdom units obtainable only within the realm. Each standard contains different secret and mythical units with unique strengths.
Each banner is summoned with one of three currencies: Aqua, Solar, and Flame Tokens. These tokens are earned based on the maps and challenges you complete. You have to choose which lane you want to grind to earn the tokens needed for the summon.
There will be a secret mercy system on these banners.
New Athenyx Challenges
In the sphere, there will be an area for challenges. These challenges are like different game modes that drastically change the gameplay.
New Story maps
- 6 new story maps.
- Each map drops items and tokens along the path you want to grind in the kingdom.
Endless Challenge mode
Each map will have a new Infinite Challenge mode. It works like Endless Mode, but after every 15 waves, you have to choose a mod from 3 presented to you. The selected modifier stacks as you progress through endless waves, making it progressively harder.
New Infinite Challenge boards will also exist, with rewards.
Real Items
- Wave Skip Item: When used, you jump to certain wave numbers, useful in Endless Mode.
- Portal Hardening Item: When used in any portal, the portal will guarantee to crash if you don’t hit the secret unit, so you can try again.
- Limit Breaker: When used on a unit, it will increase its level cap.
- Key of Athens: Used to leave the kingdom of Athens.
- The Chain of Athens: Used to bring any one unit to the main world.
New Battle Pass Athenyx
In the realm, you will have access to a free (F2P) and premium battle pass with 25 levels. The battle pass is reset when you reach the end, allowing you to play it again. The purpose of the battle pass is to grind for Athenyx’s Key and Athenyx’s Tether, allowing you to exit the realm and bring a unit back with you.
