Battlefield 2042 Guns Tier List
Battlefield 2042 is no longer a live game as the developers have officially announced that Season 7 is the crucial update. While you may see some maintenance and game mode rotation updates, don’t expect a major drop in content. With no weapon rebalancing expected, it’s safe to say that this is the ultimate 2042 gun battle list.
Battlefield 2042 Weapons List
I’ve divided the weapons into five different tiers—S, A, B, C, and D—from best to worst. Each level features guns from different categories, which I think belong to that class according to the following description.
- S level: God-level, meta-weapons that can beat all other weapons when used within their suggested limit (ie, SMG for close range).
- A level: Excellent options that can compete with god-level weapons in the hands of the right player.
- B level: Good guns that are fun to use but outshined by their high-end counterparts.
- C level: These weapons are just there in the game but are not competitive enough to be recommended.
- D level: The worst of the bunch that are completely useless and you’ll be better off staying away from these.
S-level Weapons Battlefield 2042
SMG | PP-29, AC9, K30 |
an assault | VHX-D3, AK 5C, SFAR-M GL |
LMG | LCMG |
Shooter | BSV-M |
Sniper | SWS-10 |
Tactical | MCS-880, RORSCH MK-4 |
Even with the base/no attachments equipped, you can effortlessly dominate your opponents as these weapons have a fast TTK (time-to-kill) and an easy-to-control recoil plot. I could have added more weapons to S level, but I wanted to keep only the best of the best here. If you’ve been waiting for one of your favorite weapons and can’t find it, you’ll most likely notice it on the A-level list. Choose any weapon from the table above and you don’t have to worry as long as you have good aim and game sense.
A-level Weapons Battlefield 2042
SMG | PBX-45, MP9, SCZ-3 |
an assault | AM40, AC-42, RM-68, M5A3 |
LMG | Avancys, DFR Strife |
Shooter | SVK, M39 EMR |
Sniper | NTW-50, DXR-1 |
Tactical | Ghostmaker R10, 12M Car |
Most Assault Rifles and Machine Guns (SMGs) fall under these two tiers because these are versatile weapon classes in Battlefield 2042. This means that these guns are fully automatic, fun to use, and easy to master for most players. Additionally, I’ve included some great Shotguns (Tactical), DMRs (Marksman) and Sniper Rifles that are on par with the S tiers.
B-level Weapons Battlefield 2042
SMG | AKS-74U, PP2000, P90 |
an assault | GEW-46, AK-24, AEK-971 |
LMG | PKP-BP, RPT-31 |
Shooter | VCAR |
Sniper | – |
Tactical | NVK-S22 |
B-level weapons are okay and I really enjoy going back to them every now and then. These guns can easily take out opponents, it’s just that there are better options available in the previous two levels.
C-level Weapons Battlefield 2042
SMG | – |
an assault | M416, M16A3, ACW-R, MTAR-21, A-91 |
LMG | M60E4, M240B, XM8 LMG |
Shooter | G428, DM7 |
Sniper | XCE Bar, GOL Sniper Magnum |
Tactical | – |
The Assault Rifles and LMGs featured here are from the weapon vaults of the previous games and simply cannot compete against their BF 2042 counterparts. This is due to poor TTK, average control and huge visual regression shake. Don’t expect these guns to compete against the top-of-the-line loadouts, but it’s good to try the classic battlefield weapons every now and then when you’re bored with the meta.
D-level Weapons Battlefield 2042
SMG | – |
an assault | – |
LMG | RPK-74M, TYPE 88 LMG |
Shooter | SVD |
Sniper | – |
Tactical | GVT 45-70 |
In the D tier, I included weapons that I and several other players in the Battlefield community think are useless. It’s simply because these are not fun to use in my opinion, because you have a hard time killing and shooting with these guns, especially the GVT 45-70 Tactical and SVD DMR. The RPK-74M and TYPE 88 LMGs can still be used but like I said, you have much better alternatives to choose from.
