Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLc has a bunch of new Spirit Ashes for players to try out in battle. Here’s one you can get as early as you start in the DLC.
How to get early game Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC
The earliest Spirit Ashes you can get in the DLC is that of Demi-human Swordsman Yosh. You can find this Spirit Ashes in the Belurat Gaol, north of the Greatbridge North Site of Grace, in the first area of the DLC. You will have to cross a lake from the Place of Grace to reach the Gaol entrance. There’s also a Ghostflame Dragon in that lake but it’s pretty harmless since it mainly does damage when you’re very close to it.
The path to the Demi-Human Swordsman Yosh is quite linear as you will have to go to the bottom of Belurat Gaol and defeat its boss to get it. Follow the linear path until you reach an opening on the right. Go down that right opening.
Keep moving forward and you’ll find a room with some hanging Vases leading to the floors below. Go down using the Pitchers and you will reach in front of a bridge. Large and small Jar enemies will try to attack you so keep moving fast or take them out. Go to the left of the bridge using the stairs and you will see them split and you will fall down. This is normal as you will need to move forward to exit the area.
Move around and you’ll find a door that takes you to the boss room where you’ll have to fight Dem-Human Swordsmaster Onze.
Swordsmaster Onze is not so hard to fight if you know how to avoid his attacks. He will give very small openings, but when he does, he takes a lot of damage quickly. But his biggest asset here is his Waterfowl Dance, which can take your health very easily. Your best bet is to dodge backwards. He only does this move when his health is half. Take him out and you’ll be rewarded with the Demi-Human Swordsman Yosh Spirit Ashes.
Demi-Human Swordsman Yosh Spirit Ashes Details
Demi-Human Swordsman Yosh is incredibly skilled with the sword with his powerful attacks. His health is quite low compared to other Spirit Ashes but he moves very fast and does some amazing attack combos and abilities. He works best when you work together on an enemy as he will do some super fast moves that will take some of their health. He also takes enemy aggro quite a bit.
If you have a hard time landing combos on certain bosses, then you can try summoning Yosh. But, make sure he doesn’t take too many hits because his health goes pretty fast. But, his sword skills almost make up for that.
