Call of Duty Black Ops 6 lack of carry is exactly what liked wanted

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 got its first in-depth look during the recent Xbox Showcase, where we were treated to the developers walking fans through all the upcoming changes. One area that was confirmed outside of the BO6 Direct was the Carry Forward mechanic from previous Modern Warfares. (Carry Forward is the initiative that allows all current MW2/3 content to carry over to the next installment—whether that’s skins, weapons, or operator packs.)

Fans jumped on Reddit to share the news that Black Ops 6 will no presents the mechanic Carry Froward of the previous two installments (Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3). This comes as something of a surprise, as a handful of weapon leaks have shared guns from both MW2, MW3, and Black Ops 6.

User Rayuzx shared the information on the Black Ops 6 subreddit to give everyone the news that Carry Forward is confirmed not to be a part of the upcoming title, which was met with universal applause.

Reddit user MadFlava76 makes a good point about too much content in Warzone, saying, “No porting over to BO6 is good. There are too many operators and guns if MW2/3 stuff is carried over. But it’s probably a safe bet that Warzone will have MW2/3. and BO6 operators, guns, kill streaks, and be a swollen mess.”

Fortunately, I don’t need to argue the point because User Frosty_chilly jumped into the conversation and stole the words out of my mouth, saying: “The problem with retroactive updates is: maps are often designed to be balanced around the content of the game it features . in. Omnimovement was probably not a thought to IW or Sledge in the first place.”

(Omnimovement is the new movement system being introduced in Black Ops 6 that allows players to move in omni directions for the first time in the history of the series.)

This means that blocking the new content in Warzone could cause the mode to become overcrowded. I’d rather Treyarch take control of Warzone and wipe the slate clean so that the maps, weapons and equipment are balanced around Omnimovement.

Continuing to add more and more content to satisfy the desires of players who bought store packs at the expense of gameplay and integrity is a terrible choice. I understand the feelings of gamers who don’t want to see their money disappear into the ether, but we have to draw a line in the sand somewhere, and Treyarch has decided that line will be drawn between Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Zombies, and MW2. and MW3. In any case, fans are currently heaving a collective sigh of relief, thanking their deities that Black Ops 6 will mostly not see the damn skins haunting every lobby.

Here’s everything we have on the Carry Forward Black Ops 6 mechanic. If you’re looking for more Call of Duty content, then check out Casual CoD fan frustrations point to a bigger problem for the series, Warzone is sweatier than ever, and fathers bother, and more on Pro Game Guides.
