Dead by Daylight's Chaos Shuffle Modifier can shake up the meta

Mods have really improved the Dead by Daylight gameplay experience, especially for those who have been playing the asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror title for years. The upcoming DbD Chaos Shuffle modifier has the potential to shake up the meta, and it's become a hot topic within the community.

Chaos Shuffle is the latest in a line of DBD mods, a hitherto limited game mode that introduced various changes to trial. Before this, we were able to play the Lights Out mod, with darker maps and no loads, as well as My Little Oni, a fun experience with shrunken Survivors being chased by a giant Oni.

There are currently no exact details on the Chaos Shuffle Dead by Daylight mod, or when it will be released, but we can make some guesses based on the name and accompanying image.

To begin with, the official image of Dead by Daylight X account posted contains a benefit block, but instead of a benefit, it shows a question mark. This suggests that the modifier will affect the benefits of players and that we finally get a random benefit mode. The name Chaos Shuffle also points to a random benevolence mode of some sort.

Random benefit roulette is a challenge that many have played over the years by adding all the available benefits to an online randomizer and letting it pick your load. Getting that as a game mode would be awesome, saving fans around the world a lot of time typing the plethora of perks in the game into the randomizer.

If Chaos Shuffle turns out to be 'professional roulette', then many are calling for it to become a permanent game mode, as it is already a favorite mode. If you're not happy with the current meta, you could just play Chaos Shuffle because there can't be a meta if you don't pick the loadout.

Another piece of evidence supporting this theory is Dead by Daylight's 7.7.0 update, which added the ability for players to see the description of their perks during gameplay. This would definitely come in handy in a game mode where you don't even know what benefits you're getting until you're in the trial.

While all signs point to a benign roulette-style mode, there are other fan theories about what Chaos Shuffle is that seem viable. Content creator of One Dead by Daylight @ConnorSparkyy mentioned that he would love to see profit sharing between players. That means you can make either a great and useful, or a ridiculous and absolutely useless perk that would go to someone else in a trial. This might be too complicated to accomplish, but if it's not in Chaos Shuffle, I'd like to see it in a different modifier.

Other theories, how to change benefits after each generator is switched on from @DutchWvs or maybe after every Survivor hook would also make a furious take on the standard Dead by Daylight experience. There is a lot of room to play with Behavior. Here's hoping they go all out and let the regime live up to its name; the more confusing and chaotic the better.
