Disney Dreamlight Valley Creative Director teases the search feature that all fans have been waiting for
Since its launch, Disney Dreamlight Valley has continuously delighted gamers with new content. So far in 2024, two free kingdoms and five new characters have been added, and there have been updates to Scrooge McDuck’s Store, Furniture Mode and DreamSnaps. But all of that actually pales in comparison to one of the features that fans have repeatedly asked for: Search functionality.
Players have been asking for this feature for months, and it’s finally on its way! The search function makes interacting with your inventory much easier, especially as the number of items in the game continues to grow. Up until this point, finding specific items in the furniture menu had been a tedious task, often requiring players to scroll through hundreds of items. Clothes were a little easier to find, but it still involved a lot of rolling.
Honestly, it’s one of the most annoying things in the game.
This new search feature will allow players to quickly and easily find what they are looking for, making decorating and organizing their Valley much less time consuming. No more endless scrolling or guessing in which category an item can be found – just type in what you need and voilà!
While the search function is super exciting, it’s not the only thing coming to DDV. Tiana from The Princess and the Frog is set to join the Valley in August 2024. This update will not only introduce Tiana’s Palace and new outdoor decor but also bring a touch of 1920s class with a Star Trek theme. But that’s not all – the conclusion of the DLC, Disney Dreamlight Valley: Rift in Time, will take players into Jafar’s palace for one final adventure.
October will bring Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King to the Valley, bringing new surprises and helping players deal with an invasion of Night Mythos.
2024 will end with a mysterious event involving Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, promising even more spooky fun.
One last piece of news: GameLoft is working on features to give players more space and freedom to decorate their Valleys. I really hope this means an expanded item limit for all platforms, we Switch players are suffering.
