Disney Dreamlight Valley fans vent their frustrations as developers ask for ‘quality of life improvements’

The team at Disney Dreamlight Valley has asked for suggestions in the past, and some have been accepted and implemented into the game. A recent suggestion was for players to be able to make Touch of Magic items invisible when you take DreamSnaps, and that’s something you can now do.

It’s buggy and barely works, but it’s a feature added to the game.

Following the latest post by DDV, which was shared on their Facebook page on July 25, 2024, it’s clear that Disney Dreamlight Valley players are frustrated with many parts of the game. There are some great suggestions, but also a wave of unhappy players who have been asking for the same updates for a while.

The official DDV page is asking players what features or changes they’d like to see “make their way to an update,” and, at the time of posting this news, there are 1.7k comments. Most of these players make suggestions and respond to each other, rather than any action by the GameLoft Disney Dreamlight Valley team.

They responded to a single comment, which was this stream of suggestions, which I’ve cleaned up a bit for better understanding and to clarify what some of the suggestions are:

  • Turn items on/off in Scrooge’s windows instead of having blank windows, which happens when you’ve bought all the full-length clothes in your store.
  • Search function for cooking and furniture because moving takes forever.
  • Emphasize made-to-order meals at Remy’s restaurant. It’s easy to forget what everyone ordered.
  • Better road-to-build alignment. They don’t line up properly, leaving a lip to the path.
  • Do more with companions: Feed, bathe, cuddle, teach tricks, etc.
  • More default hairstyles and/or wigs.
  • Move Goofy’s stalls. You cannot move them outside of their original biome.
  • capes Currently non-existent in-game.
  • Music selection; select the theme music you want to listen to, even if you have a character following you. Unlock new songs and collect music discs. Currently not available in the game.

DDV replied, “Great suggestions, thanks!” to this comment, and only this one, despite many players commenting their own suggestions, problems, complaints and more.

Top suggestions for Disney Dreamlight Valley

Screenshot of Pro Game Guides
  1. Seasonal changes in the Valley.
  2. Larger item limit (especially on the Nintendo Switch).
  3. Crossplay for PlayStation.
  4. Higher player level cap.
  5. Faster cooking options.
  6. Curves in roads and ability to drive ponds.
  7. Dismantling objects that have been created.
  8. Resell furniture to Scrouge.
  9. Search function for recipes and furniture.
  10. Improve the camera for DreamSnaps and photos.

These are the most requested suggestions from the post or the suggestions that had a huge amount of likes. There are also a couple that I personally agree with. They are in no particular order.

The item limit issue on the Nintendo Switch is a hardware issue. The console cannot handle the game. I find this incredibly frustrating as a Switch DDV player as this was never explained before I bought the game last year. Fortunately, I can interplay with my laptop if I want to, but I would need to buy a second copy of the game.
