Dragon’s Dogma 2 has a lot of locked content that you can unlock through side quests or simply by talking to NPCs. One of these is a suspiciously locked area of a tavern, hidden in the residential area of Bakbattahl, Higgs’s Tavern Stand.
In this guide, I will explain the two ways to open Higgs’s Tavern Stand in Dragon’s Dogma 2 so that you can access this merchant.
How to open Higgs’ Tavern Stand in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Using Beastren Mask to open Higgs’ Tavern
If your character is already a Beastren, you can directly carry the bag to the fenced area.
The easiest way to open the Higgs’s Tavern stand is to equip the Beastren Mask. Once you have the Beastren Mask equipped, go to the Residential area of Bakbattahlwhere you will find Higgs’ Tavern or, at least, part of it.
Go outside of Higgs’s Tavern Stand, and you’ll see two bags next to a fenced haystack. Take one of the bags and place it in the fenced off area. You will get a short scene with Karnel asking you to escort the “guest” to the real Higgs’s Tavern Stand. Go up the stairs, open the door, and you will gain access to the a real Higgs’s Tavern.

Using an alternative way to open Higgs’ Tavern
In my game, I completely forgot to equip the Beastren Mask while carrying the bag. This scenario caused Karnel to report my character to the guards, which caused a fight with my party. I quickly fled the scene and killed two of the pursuers.
The problem is when I returned to the Higgs Tavern with the Beastren Mask onKarnel did ask me to escort the guest, but the door to the real Higgs’s Tavern Stand was still locked. The trick to unlocking the door is from killing the NPC guardKeith, standing next to it.
One sky shot later, the door to the real Higgs’s Tavern Stand magically unlocks. You can now buy three Salamander Liquors of Ezekiel, which are required to unlock one of the funniest Summons in the gamea traveler.
