#DRIVE Rally release date confirmed, coming sooner than you’d think
#DRIVE Rally, the follow-up to mobile darling #DRIVE, by Pixel Perfect Dude, has announced its release date, and it’ll be here sooner than you think.
#DRIVE Rally, announced a while ago, finally had a release date revealed at the Gamescom Awesome Indies Showcase, and it’s coming just over a month away on September 25th. Inspired by the pop culture of the late 80’s and early 90’s, #DRIVE Rally is all about driving, mud, more driving, and receiving firm but fair criticism from a likely underpaid co-driver.
This will be only the second time the team behind the game has released anything for platforms other than mobile and Switch (the other being the VR version of their mobile game Ski Jump), from which #DRIVE Rally will be notably absent. #DRIVE Rally is also coming to a bunch of platforms, including Steam (including the Steam Deck), GOG, the Epic Games Store, and it’s even coming to MacOS and Linux-based systems (via Steam only), which is fantastic news for all you fit nerds out there.
The game is, oddly enough, an arcade racing game, but has the aesthetic charm of something like Pacific Drive as opposed to the gritty realism of EA’s WRC. There will also be plenty to play at launch, with up to 24 tracks in each of the four settings, 12 unique vehicles with loads of variety, four Championships and even four voice-over co-drivers to tell you what an awesome job. you do
While it’s launching in Early Access, #DRIVE Rally will see even more stuff added to it after EA launches, with additional cars, tracks, co-drivers, livery customization and new Championships. However, there are only about five good people on the team, so it is uncertain when new content will appear after launch.
