Elden Ring bug prevents players from taking a break on Steam Deck
Playing Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree on Steam Deck sounds like fun unless you decide to take a break. Players had an issue with the game crashing after being inactive for some time. Apparently, there is an Elden Ring bug that prevents you from leaving the game unattended.
Everyone knows that Elden Ring is a hard game that requires commitment, but it’s ridiculous to have to play it without breaking. After several players complained, developers detected the reason why does the game crash sometimes. Apparently, leaving your Steam Deck idle for more than five minutes can prevent the game from accepting inputs. There is no quick fix for this solution other than playing Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree non-stop.
I guess there are worse things to do than play Erdtree DLC for hours. You can at least play it until developers find the perfect solution. If that’s too extreme for you, there are some workarounds, like playing the game on PC, PlayStation or Xbox. If you’re committed to Steam Deck, you can still play, but make sure your lunch breaks are shorter than five minutes.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is a really big DLC because you will have to spend at least 20 hours to complete it. And that’s without turning every stone to find items and solving all the side quests. On reflection, maybe taking a five-minute break from playing the game on Steam Deck isn’t something you’ll do often. Are you a hero or not?
