Fallout London: Platforms, Price, Voice Actors & More
Fallout London is the complete Fallout 4 conversion we’ve all been waiting for, and it’s quite the experience so far. Here I’ll break down the platforms, price, voice actors, and other details you might want to know about before diving in.
Can you play Fallout London on Xbox or PS5?
Fallout London is only available to play on PC, either through Steam or GOG Galaxy. Due to the mod’s absolutely ridiculous size (about 6GB smaller than Fallout 4’s Game of the Year edition), hosting on Nexus (the usual place you’d expect mods to be hosted) is a no-go, which means it had to be hosted by GOG. And due to the use of a Fallout 4 script extender, as well as some very large core changes to the base game files, this mod cannot be used in the Xbox version of the game either. (The Playstation version doesn’t even allow custom assets, so that’s a definite no in this case.) We have a guide on how to download and install Fallout London here.
How much does Fallout London cost?
Fallout London, despite being almost as big a game as Fallout 4 itself, is completely free. You can get it yourself by going to the GOG page for the mod and downloading it either directly through GOG Galaxy, or manually if you need a little more control over where everything ends up.
How big is the Fallout London map?
The map for Fallout London is described by the FOLON team as being about the same size as the base game map, combined with the map for the Far Harbor DLC. However, while the base game might have miles and miles of that Massachusetts countryside, here you’re stuck with a predominantly urban environment, which means tons more places to choose your path.
All Fallout London factions
There are a bunch of factions roaming the seedy streets of this not-too-dissimilar-to-a-modern-day version of post-apocalyptic London, and some of them are… interesting to say the least.
The Gentry
Described as… ‘Feudal Aristocratic Hegemony’, a combination of words that make me sick to my stomach, these people are trying to restore Britain to its former glory, but are not doing it very well. Protective rackets, bad attitude and limited power; certainly not a commentary on our current parliamentary system.
The Tommies
Started as a well-intentioned militia of would-be protectors, the Tommies quickly became the primary tools of the gentry. Well armed, misinformed, but perhaps not beyond salvation.
The 5th Column
Fascists These guys are fascists. They intend to burn it all down so that it can all be rebuilt in the name and glory of their leader, Eve Varney. However, this does not mean that they are not a force to be reckoned with as their popularity has grown in the lower ranks of London society in recent days. A relevant faction to say the least.
Camelot
Finally, some good guys. Camelot are the scrappy underdogs of this new world, working in the shadows to try to wrest control from the Gentry and return every Briton to a state of freedom. Inspired by both WWII commandos as much as their Knights of the Round Table namesakes, they seek to learn from history and rise above it.
Union of the Isle of Dogs
The Isle of Dogs syndicate are your classic clean on the outside, dirty on the inside London gangsters. Rich, respectable, but ultimately a bunch of rotters. They currently suffer somewhat under Gentry rule, who allow their existence in exchange for large tithes, so while currently blocked, they might be somewhat open to a change in leadership.
Vagabonds
The Vagabonds are the direct enemies of the Isle of Dogs Syndicate, and exist only in efforts to punish them for their act of killing the Vagabonds former leader. Before their new motive though, these guys were trying to be the next big crime faction, but with a slightly softer heart than that of the Isle of Dogs syndicate. Less about intimidation and more about action, but for now at least, ultimately misguided.
Angel
Angel is the big bad in the shadows, the Big Brother of this new London…if you’re inclined to believe they even exist. Operating as a bit of a bug in London, what Angel exactly is is still a bit of a mystery. Some say the London rule, some say they don’t exist, but maybe the truth will all come out.
