There’s already a massive amount of exciting things to look forward to in Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail expansion, and now it looks like Yoshi-P and his team might be teasing more treasures for players to get their hands on. Fans are increasingly speculating that new concept art for Dawntrail’s Solution Nine area also teases some possible new items.
FFXIV’s Solution Nine artwork teases new hairstyle and jukebox emote?
Along with news of new worlds coming to Dynamis’ data center, the FFXIV development team cryptically posted parts of an incredible piece of new concept art featuring Solution Nine in the upcoming Dawntrail expansion, and it all happened via Instagram. A fan shared a compiled version on Reddit today, and the artwork is a futuristic marvel.
However, there is a fix for a certain part of the artwork (seen above) that was shared by the dev team earlier today, as it focuses on a meeting of Solution Nine citizens. While the glamours they wear, all clearly familiar from older content, we can’t help but notice that the Hrothgar is on fire with a large jukebox on his shoulder.
Not only that, the Hyur character passing them has a long braided hairstyle, something that is currently absent from the game. FFXIV has long been notoriously lacking in longer hairstyles due to “bloody” issues with character kits, and the general difficulty of animating them. However, players have been advocating for more creative and longer hairstyles in the game for years.
If this visual detail in the new artwork is of any consequence, players may finally get an answer to their requests. Also, rocking with a jukebox emote in Solution Nine or anywhere in the game would be absolutely awesome. Either way, big fans of FFXIV like it meoni shows these possible hints to a conceptual art puzzle.
Answers may come in the next FFXIV Producer Live Letter
While the artwork is certainly nice to look at, the bigger question is why exactly these pieces are being shown, especially with hints of new content. Beyond being part of the wider hype stream leading up to Dawntrail’s release, there may be something more to it, and our best guess would be in the upcoming Producer Live Letter.
Scheduled to go live on Friday, June 14 (4am PDT), Producer Live Letter 82 is set to cover more information about Dawntrail and its launch, along with other “miscellaneous updates.” Yoshi-P loves to hide new surprises in cryptic ways like artwork like this, and the various shirts he wears to Fan Fest conventions.
According to the Lodestone announcement, the Live Letter can be streamed via YouTube, Niconico or Twitch.
