With the Version 5.0 update just over the horizon, Genshin Impact has started teasing the exciting updates to keep players on their toes. With so many rewards and optimizations announced for the main game update, HoYoverse is making good on its promise to make significant improvements to players.
Two of the most exciting things coming in the update include a free five-star selector and a new Artifact system that allows players to choose primary stats and sub-stats!
A five-star character selector—completely free for everyone!
While Natlan has been on everyone’s mind, Genshin Impact’s Version 5.0 update brings more than just the long-awaited warrior nation to the game. Players will also be treated to one of the game’s most exciting anniversaries to date. In fact, the highlight of this year’s anniversary party is free five-star character selection!
Players who have unlocked the Wish system can choose from any of the standard banner characters to get for free on the anniversary. The reward is expected distributed annuallywhich makes the anniversary period of Genshin Impact the perfect time to start new players. Never before has HoYoverse extended this level of generosity in Genshin Impact, making it an important milestone for both the developer and players.
Choose your main Artifact stats and sub-stats
Artifact farming is one of the most tedious tasks in Genshin Impact, and it has received few improvements over the years. However, HoYoverse finally improves the quality of life to a whole new level with an Artifact Affix system that allows players choose the Artifact’s main stat and two substats. It will be easier than ever to get coveted dual CRIT lines and primary stats that match each character’s unique needs.
Artifact Fixing will be available through a new Gadget called Artifact Transmuter, which can be obtained for free from the Adventurer’s Handbook. It will require a resource called the Sanctifying Elixir, obtained by salvaging upgraded Artifacts, picking them up in Natlan, and through the Gnostic Hymn (battlepass). The anniversary mail rewards will include some Sanctifying Elixir to help players get these valuable resources as soon as possible.
Other QoL optimizations and updates to look forward to
- World Level 9 for higher enemy and boss drops
- Quick start for Archon Quests—players can jump to Natlan after completing Liyue.
- By completing the Natlan Archon Quest during the event period, players will receive an additional x500 Primogem reward.
- New system “Capturing Radiance”, which increases the chances of pulling for the outstanding five-star
- The Fate Points required to obtain a guaranteed five-star weapon will be reduced from two to one.
- Regional special places will be automatically tracked on the map.
- All enemy drops will increase.
