Sand Land has many map symbols that can be confusing; one of those signs is for hills. When you first meet them, you would think that you can climb them, but it's not that simple, so this guide will teach you how to climb hills in Sand Land.
How you can climb hills and get the Jump Bot in Sand Land
To climb hills, you will need to get a Jump Bot and then use its jumps to climb from one rock to another until you reach the top. I first encountered hills during the demo, and I tried various sides and angles to find a way to climb until my character said we needed a vehicle that could jump to climb it.
Where to find Jump Bot (Vehicle) in Sand Land
To get Jump Bot in the full game, you have to progress through the story until you reach Spino Townwhere Ann will tell you to get a Jump Bot frame. After completing the quest, you will get the frame, and then you will need to get the rest of the parts.
At first, I started going around Sand Land to look for these parts, but you can craft them at Spino Town; talk to Ann, and here you can create Jump Bot parts in Parts>Make Parts>Jump Bot. After you have created all the parts, ask Ann to assemble the robot, and then you can equip it.

Now, go out into the world to find a hill, take out the Jump Bot to use its jumps, and climb these hills. You will usually find some chests with worthwhile loot, such as materials and vehicle parts, and other times there will be mineable ores that are useful for obtaining all kinds of ores.
