How to get Carbon in Manor Lords
The road to gold and glory begins with simple charcoal, because without it, your villagers will have a hard time surviving harsh medieval living conditions. Here's how to get coal in Manor Lords and keep your workers warm and satisfied.
How to make Carbon in Minor Lords
You have to unlock and build a Coal Furnace to create coal in Manor Lords. Unfortunately, this building is locked, so you have to plan your city building accordingly. If you do not plan production carefully, you will face a shortage of charcoal. Fortunately, all is not lost, as you can also import charcoal to your region. Having said that, focus on domestic production as it is cheaper and faster.
How to unlock the Coal Stove in Manor Lords
To unlock the Coal Furnace building, you need to upgrade your town to level 1 (Small village). Doing this will unlock the Development skill tree, where you will get one evolution point to spend. Development points are awarded only after reaching the next city level, so spend your first point on Charcoal Burning. I stupidly chose a Sheep upgrade instead of unlocking the Carbon Burner and had to turn around to trade.

How to use Carbon in Manor Lords
Charcoal and firewood are needed to produce fuel, which is used, among other things, to heat villagers in Manor Lords. While you have some in reserves at the start, start coal production as soon as possible. If villagers are cold, especially during the winter season, their happiness and work efficiency will decrease. You'll also need coal and fuel to craft tools and weapons in later stages, so keep your carbon reserves optimal.
