The Hide and Seek World Champion achievement in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit has proven to be one of the most elusive for even the franchise’s most dedicated players. Although the gist of the challenge seems simple enough, there are a few things to keep in mind when you’re not going to see.

  • Must use every TYPE of hiding place – To repeat, you must use every single one type from a selected hideout in the game once for the achievement, rather than every single actual hideout. This means when you hide under a table in Oswald’s house, you don’t need to do so in Freddy Fazbear’s.
    • All types of hiding places include: cabinets, storage drawers, vents, under beds, and under tables.
      • We strongly suggest you make a checklist of all caches so you can keep track of the ones you’ve made. This is easily done by clicking on your chosen save file in the Main Menu and pressing “F”. Scroll down to see the “Hiding Places” for both the Pizzeria and Oswald’s House.
  • What constitutes a “successful hideout” – There are specific steps to take for your stealth attempts to count towards this achievement:
    • First, Spring Bonnie needs to see you to hunt. You’ll know it when he yells at Oswald.
    • When Oswald hides, either a QTE mini-game (eg – hitting spiders, staying out of sight, holding breath), or a cutscene of Spring Bonnie/other animatronics pacing back and forth must occur.
    • Of course, stay alive and hidden until Spring Bonnie/other animatronic leaves the area.
  • Bait a Springbonnie one room from your chosen location – When deciding which hideout you want to use, the most effective way to do so is to catch the attention of Spring Bonnie one room away. As soon as he sees you, run to the room with your chosen location and hide.
    • For example, if you want to hide under the dining table in Oswald’s House, lure Spring Bonnie out of the Kitchen and then run into the Dining Room to hide.
  • Adjust Animatronic Aggression – When choosing the difficulty for a new gameplay, you can also adjust the aggression level of some of the animatronics, including Spring Bonnie. This increases the probability of being spotted and their running speed when hunting. You can use this to your advantage if you want a higher rate of detection to make spots faster, but choose wisely.
  • Difficulty matters – This achievement can be done on any difficulty EXCEPT Nightmareas not all types of hideouts will be available to use in that difficulty. The fastest and easiest way to do this is on Creepy difficulty, where you have all the possible options.

All hideouts in Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit are located in two of the five locations of the game: Oswald’s House and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria (not Jeff’s!). As noted earlier, there are different types of hideouts, and for this achievement, you must complete a successful hideout in each of them at least once.

Also remember, once you complete one type of hideout in Oswald’s House, you don’t need to do it again at Freddy Fazbear’s.

The rooms that do not have hiding places on ANY difficulty include: The Living Room and Kitchen at Oswald’s House, and the Arcade, Security Room and Backstage at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

Below we’ve provided the locations of all known hideouts in the game with the in-game maps as a helpful visual, and tips for baiting Spring Bonnie around each one.

Side Note: The Cabinet hideout in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Kitchen will not be available until you progress to at least Night 3.

There is one of every type of hiding place available in Oswald’s House, and they are ALL available from Night 1 when you have the “Call Mom” objective.. If you want to beat at least most of these from the start, you easily can. We recommend first collecting all spare Batteries in the house, so you have plenty on hand for noisemakers.

As mentioned before, luring a Spring Bonnie one room away from your chosen hideout is the most effective way to complete a “successful hideout”. Therefore, we recommend the following strategies for each of these:

  • Storage box in attic – Lure Spring Bonnie in Corridor 1 with the Pollutant before running up the Attic stairs.
  • Oswald’s Bed – Bait Spring Bonnie in Corridor 2 using the Sewing Machine before running into Oswald’s Room.
  • Parents’ bed – Bait Spring Bonnie in Corridor 2 using the Sewing Machine. The “Call Mom” objective that requires you to hide under the bed during Night 1 does NOT count.
  • Corridor 1 Cabinet – Bait Spring Bonnie from either the Dining Room or Corridor 2 (Sewing Machine).
  • Corridor 2 Cabinet – Lure Spring Bonnie from either Corridor 1 (with Dustman) or the Kitchen (Blender).
  • Dining table in Dining Room – Lure Spring Bonnie from either the Living Room (TV), Corridor 1 (Disinfector), or the Kitchen (Blender).
  • Storage box in Basement – Spring Bonnie bait from the Kitchen.

There’s also one of each type of hideout in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza if you happen to miss one in Oswald’s House. Also, this is the only place where you can complete a Vent hideout, as well as the Golden Freddy costume.

We suggest completing hideouts here as early in the game as possible before Freddy, Chica and Bonnie start patrolling too.

As mentioned before, luring a Spring Bonnie one room away from your chosen hideout is the most effective way to complete a “successful hideout”. Chica’s “alarm system” can prove useful in certain situations to guide Spring Bonnie around, but since her location is unpredictable later on, she may not be the most reliable.

We recommend the following strategies for each of these:

  • Entrance Vent – Bait Spring Bonnie from the Dining Area.
  • Any Tables in the Dining Area – Bait Spring Bonnie from the Entrance, the Ball Pit, or the Party Corridor. The Entrance can give you the most freedom to hide under a table at the opposite end of the room.
  • Storage box in Basement – Probably the most difficult. Bait Spring Bonnie preferably from the Dining Area, to give you more distance. You can also try Backstage, but hurry!
  • Golden Freddy costume in Warehouse – Bait Spring Bonnie from the Festive Corridor.
  • Wind in a Warehouse – Bait Spring Bonnie from the Festive Corridor.
  • Wind in the Corridor of the Party – Bait Spring Bonnie from either the Dining Area (preferred) or the Warehouse.
  • Table in Party Corridor – Bait Spring Bonnie from either the Dining Area (preferred) or the Warehouse.
