The discovery of metallurgy is a game changer for any civilization because it unlocks a whole new branch of technology. This also works for the alien world, so here's how to unlock, place and use Ore Pickers in The Planet Crafter.
The Planet Crafter Ore Extractors Guide
You need to reach 155 μPa to unlock the Ore Extractor T1, and the T2 model opens at 364.5 mPa. In addition to mining, you can use Ore Extractors to increase heat and pressure. You can dig up ore such as Aluminum by placing an Ore Extractor on the target surface. Just remember that you can only put them on sand and dirt.
How to unlock Ore Extractors in The Planet Crafter
Unlocking the first Ore Extractor is pretty easy; all you have to do is build the Pressure value to 155 μPa. The best way to achieve that value is to unlock the T3 Drill and build four of them. You may need to wait around 30 minutes to unlock the first Ore Extractor, but once you do, you will be able to mine resources directly from the ground.

To build the T2 and T3 Ore Extractors in The Planet Crafter, you must reach the Pressure values of 364.50 mPa and 13.33 Pa. The T1 Ec Extractor also requires some resources, and they are below.
- 2x Osmium
- 1x Iridium rod
- 1x Super Alloy
- 1x Aluminum
- 1x Titanium
How to use Ore Extractors in The Planet Crafter
The Ore Extractors work in a simple way; you just build them on the areas you want me. However, you can place them on the surfaces available for mining, such as sand or dirt. Concrete and buildings are not good places to place your Ore Extractors.
The T1 Ore Extractor will mine only the basic ores, such as Aluminum, Sulfur, Cobalt, Iron, Magnesium, Silicon, Titanium and Iridium. For some higher level ores, you need to upgrade Ore Extractors by achieving the larger Pressure value. Also, remember that there are ores such as Aluminum, Sulfur, Iridium and Obsidian that can only be mined in specific areas.
