If you don’t have the inclination to look up (I know I don’t) then you may have missed the egg sacs that sprouted on the Macmillan Tower in Dead by Daylight that are spreading.
The egg sac first appeared during an in-game event, still largely intact on the Macmillan map’s water tower. However, as new chapters and events come and go, the bag seems to expand and hatch something still unknown to us.
With the confirmation from the developers during the DBD AMA on Reddit that we got to watch it, the fans started speculating what exactly could hatch from the big scary eggs.
Some assume that it could have something to do with the casting of Frank Stone (Supermassive x Behavior Interactive game in the style of Until Dawn). However, considering this has been in the game for years, it seems highly unlikely. While the developers have hinted that we’ll get some crossover between the two games, this one just seems a little too early for it.
Others say it has something to do with the original chapter coming out later this year (and this seems like the most likely theory to me). If you’re wondering what the Killer could be in this chapter, many are guessing a spider creature.
There are charms in Volume 10 of the Rift hinting at a future Slayer being a spider. When you check the descriptions of the charms for all levels of Volume 10, you can see that they also talk about Infestation: Arachnid Eggs, Hatchlings, Predator, and even a Mother whose spiders will spread over the kingdom (honestly terrifying). thought). The legs emerging from the slowly expanding egg sacs do look very spidery.
Creating a Spider Killer is a bit difficult due to the width of spider legs. However, Behavior Interactive treated unique-looking characters as Chucky recently, so now would be the best time to create another unique Slayer (if they make it so it can climb walls and ceilings, I don’t know how I’ll survive in real life).
However, others have mentioned that it reminds them of the Entity, which I can also see. The Entity is what brought all the Slayers and Survivors to the realm, so finally having it as a character in the game would be awesome.
However, I would have loved it more if the Entity actually played against both Assassins and Survivors, making our whole lives more difficult. Thus, it would be better suited for an event or game modifier. Halloween looks like the most likely event to reveal the secret of the eggs.
In addition to serious speculations, there are also some hilarious comments, like Lara Croft coming out of it. The iconic Survivor is coming to the game soon, but I doubt she’ll pop out of an egg sac.
Another comment that stumped me is from LinkCanLonk, only now realizing there is an egg sac on the tower. And honestly, with how chaotic those matches can be, I don’t think I look up often either. Whatever the bag is hiding, I hope it is revealed soon. Until then, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it.
