New Red Dead Redemption 2 Concept Art revealed by Rockstar Games in Museum Exhibition

Never-before-seen Red Dead Redemption 2 concept art has been revealed as part of a museum exhibit by Rockstar Games. It’s extremely rare that we see artwork like this from the company due to their immense secrecy. This is a pretty big moment for fans of Rockstar Games and their western masterpiece.

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Rockstar North has been the company’s main office for game development since the beginning. To celebrate games in Scotland, the studio has lent various pieces of rare goods and objects to a new exhibition.

Most of these items we have seen before and some community members even own them, but the most interesting thing is the new Red Dead Redemption 2 artwork.

As first reported by VGC, Game On will be at the National Museum of Scotland from June 29 to November 3 this year. Considering how monumental Rockstar Games has been to video games and culture for 25 years, it’s no surprise that they have their own segment in the Game On exhibition

Incredible concepts we’ve never seen before

Photos from the Red Dead Redemption 2 section of the exhibit can be found below. We can see four concept arts of the game. The top left image shows a walk with a horse over a river while the top right shows the band around a campfire.

We also get concept art of the entire gang, which is awesome to see. The artwork below appears to show the moment Arthur, Lenny, Javier jump on the train in Chapter 1.

While these pieces are pretty close to what the final game looks like, it’s still appreciated because of how rarely we get art like this.

The other items part of the Red Dead Redemption 2 section of the Collector’s Box fans could pre-order before the launch of the game. It was later re-released in 2021.

GTA stuff on screen

As for Rockstar’s other blockbuster, there are plenty of GTA items lent out by the company for the public to view. Starting with GTA III, there is a Claude Sideshow statue and a 10th anniversary baseball bat. There’s a Vice City Rubik’s Cube and a San Andreas skateboard.

The miniature Statue of Happiness from GTA VI will also be there along with the Key to the City. Several of the Kubrick figures spanning GTA III to V are also present.

In addition, fans can see a full timeline of Rockstar’s release history and the titles like GTA 1 and 2 that were made before Rockstar was founded. It ends at the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition and not GTA 6 though. Above the timeline are various maps from the Grand Theft Auto series such as GTA V.

VGC also reported a statement from the Chief of Publishing of Rockstar Jennifer Kolbe. She said, “Scotland has played an instrumental role in the development of video games as a medium. We are delighted to help the National Museum of Scotland reveal more about the nation’s contributions to this thriving aspect of modern culture.”
