Persona 5’s mobile spin-off titled Persona 5: The Phantom X could see a worldwide release very soon according to Sega’s latest financial report. The report states that the company is considering future expansions of the Personal mobile game as the project has started as expected.
Sega recent financial report for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024 detailed its entire current portfolio of games including the recently released Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 Reload. As for the new Persona 5 mobile game, The Phantom X, Sega seems pleased with its results. The key factor is that they thought the game “started as expected” in the report, indicating that player numbers and financial performance met internal expectations. Also present in the report is that they are considering future expansions of the game in Japan as well as worldwide.
The Chinese version of The Phantom X was released on April 12th while the Traditional Chinese and Korean version was released on April 18th. With everything going well according to Sega’s expectations, the Japanese and global release might be released very soon.
Persona 5: The Phantom X was officially unveiled in March 2023 with Black Wings Game Studio as the developer and Perfect World Games as the publisher (under license from Sega). The game serves as a spin-off of the 2016 PS4 title and takes place in the same setting. At the time of its official announcement, a worldwide release was not announced. But, with Sega being content with its initial launch, it seems increasingly likely that we’ll see the game launch globally this year or at least early next year.
