Red Obelisk Cave Location in ARK Scorched Earth Ascended (Map)

The Red Obelisk Cave in ARK: Survival Evolved was a big hotspot for resources when playing Scorched Earth. While it's present in its return in ARK: Scorched Earth Ascended, it's not quite the power it once was.

Where to find the Red Obelisk Cave in ARK Scorched Earth Ascended (Map)

In the prequel, the Red Obelisk Cave, as suggested in its title, was near the giant Obelisk with a large beam emitting from its center. In ARK: Scorched Earth Ascended, this remains the case, although the cave has seen some better days to be sure. The exact coordinates for the Red Obelisk Cave are (72.7, 35.3), where the cave itself sits a short walk away from the giant obelisk. The entrance looks like a a ruined arcade.

Unfortunately, the lair has been greatly scaled down or even outright nerfed since it's barely even a lair anymore. Instead, when you go to those coordinates and enter the cave, you'll find nothing more than a tunnel leading into the western part of the Scorched Earth map. It is not very long, and much of the roof of the tunnel is not present, hence why “barely a cave” is an accurate description of it.

There are hardly any resources in this 'cave'. Instead, what you will find is an extraordinary entrance to the upper part of a ruin in the area, and a lot of hungry flesh looking to devour you. Some people might consider the abundant presence of meats to be resources themselves, but I consider resources to be more useful trinkets like metal and ore — none of which are present.

Admittedly, the Red Obelisk Cave is definitely a downgrade from its ARK Survival Evolved counterpart, but there are other lush caves in ARK Scorched Earth Ascended that were spared the diminutive bat.
