The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.7 will remove AFK players and make farming easier
The First Descendant continues to evolve, and Hotfix 1.0.7 promises to address some of the most pressing issues players face in the game. Scheduled for launch on August 13, 2024, this update will bring several quality of life improvements, making gameplay smoother and more enjoyable for players.
One of the most frustrating experiences in any multiplayer game is when a player on your team decides to go AFK. Nexon has heard the feedback about AFK players loud and clear, and will make a significant difference to how the Special Ops missions work.
With Hotfix 1.0.7, players who go AFK during these missions will be automatically moved to the Abort option during a Temporary Review. This means they won’t take up valuable space on your team, allowing active players to continue without the dead weight. It’s a small but effective change that should make team missions much more efficient and enjoyable.
It also means they can’t enjoy EXP farming without actually doing anything to contribute.
But that’s not all! Nexon also makes it easy for active players to farm EXP and continue playing with their squad. After completing Interception Battles, Special Operations, and Infiltration Operations, players will have additional time to choose whether they want to restart the mission; two new buttons — “Restart with Squad” and “Restart Alone” — will be added to the end screen of the mission.
Whether you want to keep cycling through the same mission with your friends or prefer to play the challenge on your own, these new options should provide a smoother gameplay experience.
Hotfix 1.0.7 it’s not just about AFK players and farming though. The patch will also introduce a series of tweaks and improvements to improve gameplay. For example, the options for Infiltration Operation in Hard Mode are adjusted, removing the frustrating “Grappling Hook Disabled” and “Jump Disabled” challenges.
The difficulty of the Frost Walker mechanism will also be decreased, making public matchmaking more accessible. Additionally, players will be able to benefit from a nice bit of character invincibility by standing in dangerous locations after completing an interception battle.
Anyone playing The First Descendant will also see better inventory management, with new icons in the inventory screen that will allow you to quickly identify key information about your equipment. This should make sorting your loot much faster.
As always, I’m glad to see that Nexon is taking such a proactive approach to developing their game further. The Hotfixes so far have shown how much the devs listen to their players, and how willing they are to make changes that the fans obviously want for better gameplay.
Now if they could just fix the “shader preparation” problem…
