‘They won’t make it’: Wuthering Waves smashes 30 million pre-registrations despite player doubts

With less than ten days since the game launched on May 22nd, Wuthering Waves has reached its final milestone of 30 million pre-registrations, and fans are celebrating. This means that we will get all the announced free rewards after the game launches.

Lustrous Tide is the reward we’ve been looking forward to the most. We’ll get free draws at the start of the game without having to do any of the work and who doesn’t love a reward like that?

However, not everyone believed that Wuthering Waves would reach this final pre-registration goal. 30 million is a huge number, and for some people, it seemed impossible to achieve. X-user @scum_haru shared a compilation of many of the negative comments that said Wuthering Waves would never make it.

Comments were thrown like ‘Kuro is not Mihoyo’ and ‘numbers are inflated by robots.’ While it’s true that Run Games aren’t as big as miHoYo, which continues to have great success with all of its games, that doesn’t mean that no one else can do just as well in the same genre. It also does not mean that success is manufactured.

It makes sense that these two companies are being compared, but as someone who plays miHoYo games, I can say that it doesn’t have to be one or the other. You can play and enjoy both, and Wuthering Waves looks more than promising to me.

Some fans are so excited that the milestone has been reached that they are even saying that the 40 million milestone may be within reach. I think that might be a little too optimistic, but who knows? Doubters have been proven wrong this time and there is still just over a week until the game launches.

Wuthering Waves shattered all expectations. They also reached their goal of 5 million followers across all platforms. The game continues to grow, and I am very excited to see the future of it.
