Warzone maps got bigger and bigger with points of interest, lines of sight, and tons of high ground that would make Obi-Wan jealous. Thanks to all the great stages in Warzone 3 it opens up some incredible sniping opportunities, and one player took full advantage of that by achieving the longest kill with a sniper rifle.
DeerArgreeable42 achieved an incredible feat and immediately took to the Warzone subreddit to show off the World Record sniper kill. Their elimination totaled 1.2 Kilometers in distance; video accompanies the high praise for some opponents.
Fortunately the comments within the thread are filled with players congratulating DeerArgreeable42 on the achievement. Some wondered how they managed to even see the enemy in their environments from such an unreal distance, but no answer was given so we have to assume they are just that good.
Some commenters mocked the typos of “WW3” rather than MW3, offering their congratulations for being the best Sniper in World War 3 and hoping they get a medal for their bravery. Amongst the fun banter, everyone was positive and supportive of the new World Record.
DeerArgreeable42’s sniper of choice was the XRK Stalker. However, it was equipped with some interesting add-ons that generated some confusion. One notable upgrade to the sniper was the short barrel, an addition that notoriously reduces range, but we are left without an explanation from the record holder. The best idea I’ve heard is that the bullet drop from the weapon equipped with the short barrel aligned with the rangefinder sniper is better than a regular barrel.
To put the incredible distance into perspective: DeerArgreeable42 managed to hit a moving target almost a mile away from his current position. In Warzone’s meta of sliding cancelling, diving and bouncing against every surface in the immediate area, the shot achieved in the video is all the more impressive.
