What is Dying Light The Beast? Trailer, release date and platforms

Kyle Crane returns in a new standalone title in the Dying Light universe, bringing with it a new play area, and vehicles.

Announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, fans of Mr Handsome Parkour Guy can rejoice in the knowledge that he will be back (and coming to Prague of sorts), meaning he survived his rather unfortunate fate in the Next DLC for Dying Light 1, which saw him complete his transformation to Volatile.

In terms of platforms, Dying Light: The Beast will come to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC on Steam.

Despite being a standalone title, Dying Light: The Beast will be free for owners of Dying Light 2 Ultimate Editionso don’t worry if you are among them. Unfortunately though, the release date of Dying Light: The Beast is currently unknownbut some time in 2025 is a good bet.

As seems to be the self-imposed standard for Dying Light games, this DLC brings with it a vehicle, and a new one at that. Gone is the sturdy buggy from The Following, hello to the rather powerful looking 4×4. Hopefully Dying Light: The Beast will have the same level of vehicle modification and skill trees The Following had, because the seamless addition of a vehicle in a parkour focused game really surprised me when I was a little boy, and I hope to be the same. surprised this time. Another thing to hope for is proper implementation of the aforementioned Volatile transformation for Kyle, as one of the things I found disappointing in Dying Light 2 was Aiden only going ‘beast mode’ in specific sections of the game, instead of letting me just tear some apart. poor viruses in my own time.

Originally, Dying Light: The Beast was meant to be an expansion for Dying Light 2, but the developers decided to make it a standalone title due to the considerable size and scope of the project, which is pretty exciting stuff.
