In V Rising, establishing yourself as a vampire ruler takes a lot of work, effort, and dark magic. But to even begin with all this, every ruler must have a castle to… Well, rule, from. The location of your castle makes all the difference between an easy conquest and an arduous struggle. Don't worry though, here's a quick recommendation on where to build your first castle in V Rising.
Best place to build you first castle in V Rising
First castle is best placed in Farbane Woods, the first region in the game. The specific location you really want to set up in should be close to at least one or two of the game's unique V Blood bosses.
Why are the V Blood bosses important?
Starting in Act 1, you will spend most of your time around the Farbane Forest, based in the southern reaches of Vardoran. In addition to hosting relatively low-level enemies, Farbane is also home to some of the first bosses that the main quest line requires you to kill. All the necessary information such as who they are, where they are located, and how they fight, are all provided in the V Blood menu. You can also use this menu to directly trace their location, just by selecting your preferred destination in this menu.
The last bit about the bosses is very important here, as killing them will unlock new power-ups and crafting options throughout the game. And if that wasn't enough, each boss is located in a base full of creative resources! For all these, the best location for your first castle should have easy access to all these hotspots.
Where are the first bosses in Farbane?
The image below shows a general map of Farbane Woods, marking the three locations of the first three V Blood Bosses:
1. Bandit Copper Mine
2. Bandit Logging Camp
3. Bandit Trapper Camp
The red star on the map marks the best recommended place for a first castle. Being just above the Forest Camp, you will be right between all three areas. Having easy access to them will make progressing in your first castle much, much easier. Take it from me, who rushed to setup at the southeast corner of the map in that screenshot, you'd better go to the red star instead.
As with any survival RPG, setting up your base of operations is paramount to success in V Rising. Or, at least, making things easier. Although you don't have to follow the exact location chosen in this guide, you should still be mindful of where you decide to start your vampire rule and how far you want to be from places of interest.
