So, XDefiant’s servers just went live to kick off its preseason, and yet no one seems to be able to actually play a game. Many of us at PGG are currently facing a number of different errors. Some see that there are no players online, while others are in a queue waiting to be put into a game.
How to fix not being able to join a game in XDefiant
There’s a really simple answer here, but if you loaded the game before the servers actually went live, you’ll need to close and restart the game. Make sure you close the application completely on PlayStation and Xbox, as you will need to re-establish a connection with the Ubisoft servers to be placed in inhabited lobbies and start playing the shooter.
If this still doesn’t work, the best bet is to give it another five minutes or so and try again. There is a good chance that the servers are just overwhelmed with traffic and you will have to wait your turn to be put into a game. Some of us on the PGG team have finally been placed in a game, but we are also seeing reports from other players on our sister sites who are facing the same issue.
Some players still report seeing barely any players inhabiting servers. If the servers think no players are online, well, that would explain why you can’t find a match. In this Reddit thread, players also note that they were able to get into a game within minutes of it starting up and then couldn’t find a game. This suggests that there might actually be a problem on the server side, and we’ll just have to wait it out until Ubisoft addresses the issue or the spike in traffic resolves.
