Blox Fruits Update 24 Scam: This is why players are upset about Dragon Tokens
After almost a year, Blox Fruits released its highly anticipated Dragon Update, and gamers worldwide jumped into the action as soon as it went live, anticipating significant changes. Although there are no new major elements, the update introduced a change in an already existing mechanic, which caused controversy. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Blox Fruits Dragon Tokens Conflict
Based on its name, the new update was only expected to expand the already existing Dragon Fruit in the game; however, players were surprised to learn that they should give up the fruit when it is phased out. Replaces the new Dragon Fruit, which costs 10,000,000 in-game currency or 5,000 Robux (~$62).
Since getting the (now called classic) fruit was not an easy task, as it cost 3,500,000 in-game currency or 2,600 Robux (~$32), many players chose the Robux route. The main reason for the controversy is that players would now have to grind for the fruit or buy it back, instead of getting a free replacement. In addition to this, the master level on the fruit has now been reset, which means players would have to start over after they get the new fruit.
This is where the new Dragon Tokens come in. They have been added to players’ inventory in place of the Classic Dragon Fruit and can be used for or get a discount on the new Dragon Fruit or other items. If you had the Permanent Dragon Fruit, it was replaced with the Permanent Dragon Mark, and if you had a physical Dragon Fruit, it was replaced with a regular Dragon Mark.
You can convert both of these to a random Mythic Fruit by pressing the Activate button or exchange them for one of the following:
- New Permanent Dragon Fruit with discount (2,400 Robux)
- Dark Blade, 2x Mythic Scrolls, 2x Legendary Scrolls and Extra Fragments (sent to storage)
- 2x Money, 2x Boss Drops, 2x Master, Speed Boats, 1 Fruit Storage and Extra Fragments (sent to storage)
- Permanent Pasta Fruit and Flame Fruit (sent to storage)
Players, especially those who buy the fruit, claim they’ve been scammed and are entitled to a refund, and many have taken to Discord and Reddit, voicing their frustration. A post on the subreddit with nearly 900 more votes reads:
They removed our dragons and replaced them with tokens for a random mythic fruit. Save your tokens. There will be a backlash and maybe a chance to get our dragons back. They also removed permanent dragons. Don’t let them hear the end of this.

Players on X (formerly Twitter) are also posting about how the update disappointed them:
Many YouTubers have also posted videos claiming that Dragon Fruit owners were defrauded. Other players have resorted to reporting the game on the platform for violating its terms of service, citing that the change undermines the value of their purchase.
In an announcement on Discord, Blox Fruit devs said that they are working on a solution for this situation, especially for players who own a persistent fruit.
We are working on a solution to the Dragon Token situation.
We will be implementing a change for players who previously owned the Persistent Dragon before today’s update. Give us time to implement this.
