Test Drive Unlimited Sun Crown is out in early access, but it faces a widespread issue that prevents players from getting into the game. The community reported the “LOGIN ERROR” that users are greeted with when launching the game, but is there a way to fix it?
Unfortunately, this is a server issue from the developers and there is nothing you can do to fix it from your end. Besides waiting, I recommend restarting your game, console/PC and network connectionregardless, because a handful of people managed to get into the game. Once you’re in, don’t close the game and just let it run in the background even if you’re not playing to stay in.
The Test Drive Unlimited team acknowledged the problem on social channels like X and Discord and assured players that they are working on a permanent resolution. According to their note, the server team has identified the root cause of all connection issues and implemented changes for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. However, this has resulted in new problems that they now have to deal with. As for us gamers, all we can do is wait for the developers to resolve the failed login error to get a taste of the final product.
Test Drive Unlimited Sun Crown was initially slated for a 2022 release, but the game was delayed several times and will finally be released two years later in 2024. While we were expecting a smooth launch experience, it’s not looking good. at all because the majority of players can’t even get to the character creation screen.
Criticism and applause will follow after players play the game, but for now there are only complaints because the developers have failed to deliver a polished product after years of promises and testing. Everyone feels cheated because they can’t play even after paying a premium to buy the gold edition and play the game a week before the official launch.
As expected, the Steam reviews are bad for the new Test Drive Unlimited game because players don’t really like the launch issues. One thing we can learn from this incident is that when feasible, developers should provide an offline mode for games; and for Test Drive Unlimited Sun Crown, it was certainly possible with the huge open world and activities to participate in.
