How to get The Gutter in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 is full of amazing weapons for players to collect. Some are Legendary Weapons that are obtained from defeating regional bosses, some come from random drops, and others are made by combining weapons and mods to create something completely new. One weapon that is made through crafting is The Gutter, an improved version of the impressive Assaultron Blade. So, let's go through how to get it.

What is The Gutter in Fallout 76?

The Gutter is a modified version of the Assaultron Blade turned into a melee weapon. Compared to the Assaultron Blade, it has 20% more damage and weighs less. It is one of the best melee weapon options in the game for those in the early to mid game. The weapon itself is made of Assaultron's arm and a grip that allows the player to hold it better.

There are two versions of The Gutter: one of Daily Ops and the Legacy version can be obtained from a quest in The Wasteland. If you have the Daily Ops version (the red and yellow version), then you cannot sell or trade the item. If you have the Legacy version (grey), then you can sell and trade the blade. This is the only difference between the two versions: the color and whether or not you can trade and sell them. However, no version can be removed for additional parts.

The Gutter Stats

This weapon has different stats depending on the level that the player must be to use it. However, even with different levels, the stats will remain for each level, so anyone with a level 25 version should have the same base stats. Here's what you can expect from The Gutter:

  • Type: Melee
  • Class: One-handed
  • Legendary Effects: Dangerous (20% more damage) or vampiric (Restores 2% of health for 2 seconds if you successfully hit an enemy)
  • Levels: 25, 35, & 45
  • Damage: 28 (level 25), 33 (level 35), and 40 (level 45)
  • Speed: Medium
  • AP Cost: 35

How to find The Gutter in Fallout 76

There are two ways to get The Gutter, and each way is specific to a certain version of the weapon. For the Daily Ops version (the non-tradable, red and yellow) players will need to complete Daily Ops. This is not a guaranteed reward for Daily Ops, and is one of the rarer rewards. Once you get it from Daily Ops, you'll only get the Plan for it, that means you will have to create it. Here are the items you need to create it according to its level (the first number is for level 25 one, the second number is for level 35, and the final number is for level 45 one. If there is only one number, you only need one for any level):

  • Aluminum (4, 5 or 7)
  • Assaultron Circuit Board (1)
  • Gear (6, 8, 10)
  • Legendary Module (2)
  • Oil (4, 5 or 7)
  • Plastic (6, 8 or 9)
  • Screw (7, 9 or 11)
  • Steel (13, 15 or 18)

Another way to get this item is complete the “Waste Management” quest in The Burrows, an area in the Harpers Ferry part of The Slime. To start this quest, all you have to do is enter The Burrows via one of the hole covers in Harpers Ferry and pick up the Holotape on the Brotherhood of Steel Squire. Once you've completed the quest (which will require you to investigate a Pump inside The Burrows), you'll receive this item as a reward.
