New Red Dead Online Update Removes Player Created Content Features
Rockstar Games recently removed the ability to view certain types of content for the Red Dead Online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2. Although Rockstar has not released any major content for years, they are still doing basic maintenance and changes to how they take care of the community.
First spotted by a community member PLTytusRockstar shared a new article on the support website announcing the removals. Starting today, December 12th, various types of player-created content will be unavailable in the Red Dead Online Social Stream. You can see the full list of content that won’t appear in the Red Dead Online Social Stream below:
End of support for user-generated content in Red Dead Online Social Feed
As of December 12, 2024, user-generated content will no longer appear in the Red Dead Online Social Feed. This includes the following:
- Posts related to user-generated content
- Friendly activity
- Crew performance
- Story Mode achievements, challenges and milestones
- Internet achievements, challenges and milestones
- Poster and wall interactions
Players will still see Rockstar Games posts and notifications.
We do not know the reason for this change. This will undoubtedly worry die-hard Red Dead Online fans though. Hopefully this is more of a technical reason or just the fact that it sees very little use anymore and not a harbinger of how Rockstar Games will take care of Red Dead Online. The game, at least Red Dead Redemption 2, continues to be one of the most downloaded PS4 games every month.
