Rockstar has not updated the release of GTA 6 on its website and fans have questions

In classic Rockstar Games Fashion, the date of edition of GTA 6 was randomly announced on Friday complete with a delay. However, what is extra characteristic for Rockstar, is how consistent their messaging is on their website and social media.

After 16 months of silence, Rockstar finally acknowledged GTA you again last week, but it only brought bad news to fans. The game slipped out of the intended fall 2025 window and it would now arrive on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

In the past, Rockstar mitigated bad news accompanying it with new screenshots or trailer. There was nothing with this except more information “soon”. Soon Rockstar can mean anything.

Fans quickly realized that the company did not change any mention of 2025 on its website and social. Of course, some thought they might do it later on Friday. That didn’t happen. It’s Monday now and Rockstar still has a text saying that GTA 6 comes in 2025 on their website. This includes the official web page for the game.

Back when the game was revealed, we got some art with text saying “next 2025”, as seen above. With some companies, you would imagine that it might not be updated immediately and so. However, this is Rockstar games. Fans would expect this thing to be ready for when the ad is made. Twitter, Facebook and YouTube titles still say next 2025. Unprepared is unlike a rock star

Another thing to remember is that it is a bank holiday in the UK on Monday. This means that Rockstar won’t change anything right away. Rockstar’s marketing and such is made from the UK, so those teams don’t work until Tuesday. Considering that they will not work a weekend and have a bank holidays, however, it is a bit strange Rockstar did not have updates on their market materials prepared.

For many fans, this feels that the announcement was either a last -minute decision or very few were in the knowledge and such changes could not be prepared. Or maybe a mixture of both.

Gta 6 trailer 2 arriving?

It may even be a good side for all this. Considering the lack of updates to the site and such, maybe a new look at the game comes earlier than we think? It would be a sense of changing a copy to “next May 26, 2026” along with a new trailer or choice of screenshots and could they just expect that?

Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, will deliver financial data to investors on May 15 next week. Get the bad news about the delay and drop the share price nearly 2 weeks before allowing them time to give some new marketing material just before the next earnings report.
