Warzone’s Urzikstan has been rumored to not be getting ranked mode and players are not happy

Warzone is the best thing to happen to Call of Duty since Zombies and it has propelled the franchise to new heights. Throughout Warzone’s lifetime, it has received many updates and content drops that have managed to keep players interested. Urzikstan is Warzone 2’s big map but has yet to see any love from Activision, now rumors are swirling that this map won’t even see a ranked mode and players aren’t happy.

Qwazimoda99 jumped on Reddit to share a rumor going around that Urzikstan will not be getting ranked mode despite the current World Series of Warzone taking place on this large map. They quickly let their feelings be known with the headline, “How did they slip from the best BR on big maps to j****** off on minimaps in ranked?”

KingRaphion quickly jumped into the thread with a solid answer, saying, “It’s simple, Resurge has more players than Big Map. Because it has map rotation, it’s ranked, and rebirth nostalgia.” Their words could not be truer; Warzone Resurgence received a lot of content that kept it updated and fresh. Urzikstan however got nothing and was hung out to dry with players either leaving entirely or moving to Resurgence.

As someone who loathes small maps and resurgence in general, it’s a kick in the teeth to my group of friends because we favor these big playgrounds. If the rumor is true, it might force the ultimatum to play a mode none of us care about or stop altogether.

Not everyone agrees with my take: user Fractales offered a simple statement, saying, “And because rebirth is a much better game mode than classic battle royale.” Later in the thread user kgbmoney offered a similar assessment of the large map in Warzone 3, saying, “The large map would have more players if it wasn’t dog crap.”

While I may not agree, it’s clear that half of the player base is happy on Revival and Rebirth Island and the other is frustrated that the big map isn’t getting any love. For Activision to be unable to satisfy both types of gamers despite their gigantic wallet and manpower is nothing short of incompetence. Call of Duty is a game that is designed to be played by everyone, new and old, good and bad, but right now, it seems like the franchise just isn’t hitting the right marks with its content.

Here’s everything we have about Urzikstan’s possible future and community feel.
