How to detect symptoms in animals in Zoochosis
Besides eating the animals in each enclosure in Zoochosis, your other general goal is to take samples and readings to diagnose any diseases present in the animals. Thanks to the tools provided on your Gadget Trolleythere are various methods you can use to determine which animals in an enclosure need treatment.
Before you leave the train, make sure to produce the food you need for the animals at their respective enclosure, as you will need it for stool samples. Load it onto your Gadget Trolley once done, then wheel it to the closer’s entrance. After that, follow these steps to get everything you need for diagnosis:
- Dropping food into the dining area
- Collect the feces produced by each animal after they feed using the MFE vacuum
- There will be one pile for every animal that is eaten in the area.
- Take temperatures with the TIS machine
- Point the tripod at the animal and make sure it stays in the machine’s view long enough for the reading to finish loading.
- Take audio readings with the ASSA machine
- Approach the animal from behind so it doesn’t get scared, and stay close until the reading is over.
- Take blood samples with the Blood Syringe
- A sample can be taken from an animal after their interaction square goes from red to green.
- You can keep track of which animals you’ve drawn blood from by checking the samples you have in your inventory with the PDA.
- Look for injuries on animals with the UV lamp
- Those with an injury visible under the light are more likely to be infected with a parasite and may be masking or mimicking false symptoms to throw you off.
As you collect each type of sample and reading, you can keep track of which animals have been checked by the symbols below their names. If a symbol has a question mark over it, that means you still have to take it back to the train for diagnosis.
Once you’ve done everything necessary for a full diagnosis, your PDA will send “task complete” pings and you can go back to the train to figure out the disease you’re dealing with.
How to cure all diseases in Zoochosis
After you got back to the train, send the stool samples into the Biomaterial Receiver and later place your blood samples in the Blood Collector at the Veterinary Station. Now, go interact with the computer at the same station to look at the Diagnostic Screen first.
On the left, look at the list of animals in the enclosure and you should see which ones have been marked for symptoms, as appropriate. symbols (ie – temperature, sound, feces and blood) who blushed.
Then, use the symptom filter over the Diseases menu selecting the symptoms the animals are showing. That will narrow down the possible ailments to a small list, and you want to choose the one with the exact same symptoms. Once you have, you then have to create a healing cure for the affected animals.
Do this by going to the ‘Quarry’ tab on the left, where you can browse through a list of possible cures for all known diseases. To know which is the right one, you have to be careful read the Description on the right for what the medicine cures. Some are obvious while others need a bit more extensive deduction.
Once you have found the right one, you need to make sure that you have enough of the required substances for the formula. These can be found in many colored vials (seen above) scattered throughout each area of the game. When you’re ready, hit ‘create’ at the bottom of the screen to make your dose of medicine. If more than one animal is sick, you will need to make an extra dose for them as well.
Grab the darts loaded with your crafted medicine from the nearby dispenser, then load them into the Dart Gun found on your Gadget Trolley. Go back into the enclosure and use one dart on each of the animals to heal them.
Once all the animals are healthy, you’ll receive a bright yellow notification (seen above) congratulating you on successfully curing them all. At that point, you can move on to the next enclosure.
How to cure mutated animals in Zoochosis
If you are dealing with a mutated animal in the enclosure, you will need to create a special medicine specifically for them to cure them and bring them back to normal. There are two methods of curing a mutated animal in Zoochosis, and which one you choose depends on certain choices you make throughout the game (and the type of ending you want to get).
Use Meat to tranquilize and then heal the animal
The first method to cure a mutated animal in Zoochosis is first by making the proper food recipe for that mutated species, which always requires Meat.
Be aware that this means you’ll have to use either the Meat Block meant for Lily at the beginning of the game, or sacrifice Sarah or one of the other human victims to the grinder to make more. So this method will affect your ending in that regard.
Once you have the meat recipe prepared and placed in the Bucket, also grab your Blood Syringe and then immediately go to the enclosure and dump the food into the Dining Area. The mutated animal will cross over and consume the meat, and this will temporarily return it to its normal form.
During this time, go and collect one new blood sample from any of the animals (doesn’t have to be the mutated one), because it is required for any of the mutation disease cures. Quickly get back to the train with your sample and to the computer to create your required medicine.
Once you have determined the correct one, press the ‘Create x3’ button at the bottom of the screen and it will automatically make three doses of the medicine for you, since you will have to shoot the animal three times to fully cure it.
Collect blood without using meat
If you prefer not to use meat (or rather, grind up human victims) during your playthrough, then you’ll need to focus on collecting an extra blood sample from the enclosure as quickly as possible while the mutated beast is on a rampage. Unfortunately, you cannot collect additional samples before the mutation occurs, and Tranquilizers will not work on mutated animals.
So boom rush your way into the enclosure with your Blood Injector and collect a sample from any of the animals as soon as possible and return to the train to do your necessary cure. Since you have no way to calm the mutated beast during this time, it is more likely to kill one of the others in its vicinity before you can return in time.
Either way, create the medicine you need, return to the enclosure and shoot it three times to stop the mutation and make the animal regurgitate the parasite for storage.
